WHY WE HOST WORKSHOPS
" In the technologically-focussed, fast-paced and global world we live in, it becomes so easy to consume masses of products from retail stores without even thinking twice about the contributixon the brand makes towards it's community and industry. Even before starting LUCA, I questioned the role of retail brands and therefore quickly decided that when LUCA starts up, it should use it's resources to not only create and sell products but to unite individuals into a community of creativity and collaboration.
The 'Makers workshop' initiative was birthed. Through hosting multi-disciplinary workshops in areas such as sewing, embroidering, pottery, painting, printmaking and ceramic painting, we want to inspire creativity and play.”
- Carla de Beer, Founder of LUCA
